Why Indoor Patios are Becoming a Trend

by CustomHomes on Monday, June 12, 2017

PatioPatios are a place of comfort, and are a space where family and friends can gather together to enjoy each other’s company. As of late, there has been a rising trend of creating indoor patios — enclosed patios that are still spacious, and provide a beautiful view on all sides to the outdoors.

Indoor Patios can be Used Year-Round

Indoor patios can be convenient because they provide many of the benefits of a regular patio. They can also be used in inclement weather and help keep those pesky bugs out better. An indoor patio allows for more flexibility when it comes to design. Surrounding walls and a ceiling allow you to hang whatever decorative items you would like.

Indoor Patios are Sunrooms

Indoor patios can also be referred to as sunrooms. As their name suggests, they invite as much of the sun in as possible. That means that windows are an incredibly important feature of any sunroom. Most sunrooms tend to have at least one wall which is replaced almost entirely by glass to provide ample space to look outside to a beautiful garden or neighborhood. The rising popularity of these rooms is that they provide the best of both worlds — allowing you the scenic view of the beautiful outdoors while enjoying all the comforts of the indoors.

Indoor Patios Make Great Sitting Rooms

They can be simple sitting rooms with just the basic necessities, such as couches, sofas, and tables. Or, they can be incredibly lavish, containing a small pool, paintings, chandeliers, and anything that strikes your fancy. They can even contain a fireplace so they can be enjoyed in the winter The most important thing to remember is that their primary purpose is for relaxation and socialization. Comfort comes before anything else, and creating a soothing atmosphere with mild and warm colors is recommended. A few of the ways you can create the perfect atmosphere in for your sunroom include:

  • Matching chairs that coordinate with your furniture
  • Enough space to accommodate everyone
  • Mood lighting
  • Plenty of tables for people to sit down their plates and drinks
  • A colorful view

Below are a few pictures to give you inspiration. Many of these are grand, and you can aspire to make one just as great, or more so. However, they don’t have to be so lavish. They just need to provide you with the space that you need to relax and gather together with your loved ones.
