useful september decor advice - autumn harvest centerpieceSeptember is just around the corner, and with it comes Fall. The new season brings a set of new colors and a different atmosphere. It’s only natural that we change our home decorations to reflect the change. New seasons are perfect for taking the time to clean up and give our surroundings a refreshing new look.

Here are some tips and suggestions for September decor:

Earth Tones

Fall is the time of year to make the best of earth tones. With the changing leaves and the lack of plant life, it’s the perfect time to embrace reds, browns, and oranges. These colors may seem less vibrant, but with the right robust shade, you can really enrich your home.

Centerpieces

Consider centerpieces for your living room and dining room table. Centerpieces for the fall can contain pumpkins, squash, apples, leaves, and branches. If you worry about keeping your home clean, you can use fabricated plants. Pieces like these represent the harvest and serve as a simple comparison to the brighter colors used in spring and summer.

Mums and Maize

Mums and maize are colorful decor that can be placed just about anywhere: in a vase, on a side table or above shelves. They add to the spirit of the harvest.

Similarly, farm accessory decorations can be used in the fall. They’re charming in almost any season, but particularly in this one. Consider items such as straw, leaves, gourds, birdhouses, and corn.

Pumpkins

September is the best month to begin gathering resources for Halloween. Get your pumpkins, your paint, and your carving tools ready to make some spooky pumpkin faces! This will add a festive air to the front of your home.

The front of your home is one of the best spots to place your new decor. So, along with your pumpkins, create a welcoming air to your house with the addition of autumn wreaths and comfortable chairs.

Scented Candles

Bring the aromas of the outside world into your house with scented candles. There are so many different scents to choose from! During the Fall, pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and maple are just a few of the popular scents. Scented candles can sometimes be overwhelming, so the more subtle the better. This little touch upon the other senses can make a big difference.

Fall is the season we begin settling back into our homes as the cold settles in outside. Make your home one that you will gladly return to, and not want to leave.
