Weekly Roundupby Kuhrich on Friday, January 16, 2015
Yes, I know this “re-ocurring” blog post is called Weekly Roundup. And, yes, I know it’s been a really long time since our last Roundup post. But since Bi-Annual Roundup just doesn’t have the same ring to it, I’m going to throw down some new product info like we haven’t skipped a beat. So here goes.
First on the list is a great new appliance. GE is getting ready to release a new refrigerator that has a built-in Keurig machine alongside it’s water and ice dispenser. I don’t know about you, but I’m a Keurig fan. However, I’m not a fan of the big appliance sitting right in the middle of my countertop. This product seems like a really good way to utilize a great product while saving some space. Check out this video to see how it works.
By far, the most popular light fixture that we install in the homes is the recessed light. In the last few years, LED recessed lights have been gaining in popularity while their pricing has gone down, which usually happens with new technology. LED lights are great because of their ability to save on energy costs while also lasting much longer than conventional bulbs. For those of you who have the old style recessed trims with a separate bulbs installed throughout your house, Cree has a retrofit LED recessed light trim that can be installed in most old recessed light housings. This might be a useful option for anyone trying to make there house more energy efficient.
Last on the list, we’re going to talk about paint. Most people that have lived at one house for an extended period of time know that the exterior components of their home start to stain over time – especially painted components. Behr recently came out with a new paint product called Behr Marquee that is advertised to have greatly increased stain blocking and stain resistance properties. This could be a great way to reduce the amount of exterior maintenance that your home might require each year. Here’s a video with more info.
Have a great weekend errbody!
